Okay, we don't go monday...
Well, it looks like we have had a little change in plans....can't go until wednesday due to a flight "hiccup", but we will go wednesday and see the kids thursday. The first thing "M" reminded me this morning, was that God is in charge of when we go, He has been in this journey from Day One! So we will wait. Thank goodness for a patient mom who can stay!!!

It's time!
Well, ready or not, here we come! Finally we are headed to Ghana to pick up our kids. We didn't find out if our visas were officially picked up today, but were assured that it isn't approval that is the issue, it is simply picking it up. If we have to go do it ourselves, we will. Anyway, I'm packing and packing, cleaning and cleaning, shopping and shopping and more of everything. Mark and I truly feel loved, supported and richly blessed by all of our friends and family. We were given a shower by a close group of friends tonight (thanks Suzy!) and that will help for things we need, like diapers, clothes, car seat, etc.....we are so thankful! "P" and "M".....see you in a few days! We leave EARLY monday!

Pick up friday!!!
Well, after about a year, it looks like we are one week away from going to Ghana to bring the kids home! Friday is our visa pick up day and as long as everything is printed up fine, we are done with international paperwork (then comes more U.S. paperwork!!) It looks like we are leaving the 1st at this point!!! Thanks for all the prayers!

We got our visa appointment!!
We have a visa appointment!!! Our power of attorney gets to go at 7:30 on monday morning the 25th of January for the appointment. Then we are PRAYING that the visa will be done and physically picked up on the 29th. If that happens, we hope to go the 31st or 1st! We're so close!!

While I'm waiting....
Well, we sure hope we'll find out when our visa appointment is, this wednesday!! But I wanted to show some pictures of the kid's rooms...they are basically done. Not perfect, but close. "J"'s room is awaiting some fun items from Grandma and Grandpa from their African travels years ago! Also, there are items that people have so thoughtfully given to us as we anticipate the arrival of "P" and "M"!
Some of the things you are seeing are a travel bag for "P", little dolls Grandma "B" made for "M" to play with on the plane. They are made to each look like our kids! Very funny! A welcome home poster made by special friends!! "Cans" made to represent time capsules to save momentos, like plane tickets and more, for the kids. Stuffed animals and dolls to welcome them home! All come with lots of thoughtfulness and love! THank you!!

ugh
I realize in the grand scheme of things, another week added to our wait is not much and also in light of the horrible horrible loss in Haiti this week and the children who are now without families, it's not much. I am praying a lot for the people in Haiti today. But, all that said, we found out that we can't get an appointment until the 25th or 26th at the earliest, meaning we aren't traveling until into February now. I guess it means more time to get ready right?

Our I-600 is approved!!!
We finally heard this morning, after 33 days of waiting, that our paperwork has been approved, so now we wait for their visas to be processed and we can go get the kids! They are only done on mondays and tuesdays, with friday pick ups, so we're hoping and praying that next week they are done!!! Wow! Thank you Lord!
